SEO Tip # 13 Using Twitter for SEO

I would like to welcome you to my thirteenth SEO tip of the day; here I will discuss the importance of using Twitter for SEO.
Twitter can be a very useful tool for staying connected with your friends and for catching up on the latest news on any topic. As far as optimizing your Twitter account for SEO there are a few things you should do: you should choose the right screen name (something that describes what you’ll be Tweeting about), you should also create a profile description, add a picture (preferably your real picture) and you should add a link to your website or blog to your profile. You should also start to build your network, the more friends that you have following you the more people will see each Tweet you post, I recommend starting by inviting all of your friends in your email address book. When it comes to what you Tweet about it is important to be real, and not promote yourself/product too much (only 10% of your Tweets should have links), you can Tweet about your kids, and other daily activities… although you should avoid posting personal info/travel plans b/c all Tweets are public and publicizing such info may not be safe. The best way to use Twitter for SEO is to sync your blogs’ RSS feed with your Twitter account so that whenever a new blog post is published it will automatically be tweeted (WordPress has a plug-in for this). “increasing online business” is a very tall order and I cannot give you a blanket solution. What I can tell you is this, increasing online business takes time and work, and is a multi step process. One of the steps you can choose to take is Twitter; Twitter can help you build your brand and to increase brand recognition, but Twitter without anything meaningful to say or post will not do you much good.
